Being a mum doesn’t mean being frumpy! All mum’s know how to multitask and your outfits should be no different.
So whether you are hitting the shops, juggling work and child care or have a doctor’s appointment, you can still remain fashionable, chic and smart whilst servicing all the needs of your new little one.
Flat shoes are kind of essential once you have a little one, the last thing you want to do is take a tumble whilst hold your precious bundle, so the trend for classy ankle boots is an ideal way to get comfy, style and usability all in one go.
The team well with your staple black leggings, making what could end up being a dowdy outfit look far more polished. Add a loose well-tailored blouse over a vest (essential if you are breastfeeding) and pair with several key pieces of silver jewellery will give you an outfit you can take anywhere. No one will even notice you haven’t washed your hair or applied lipstick!
If you thought you had a busy life before, wait until baby arrives! The key now is to be able to get dressed quickly, have functionally and still remain true to yourself and your style.
This can be a real challenge as a new mother, who’s pre pregnancy wardrobe is unlikely to fit as it once did, even if you are back down to your pre pregnancy weight.
What I have found is being comfortable really is key (from someone who would regularly suffered for fashion pre baby). Having items you can throw together at a moments notice, that make you feel good, look good and serve a purpose are a must.
As a go too, ideal for when I am in a hurry are a black pair of leggings (always forgiving) a loose shirt (to hide my mummy tummy) a vest top (to hide my modesty as a breastfeeding mum) and my converse (allowing me to be casual, comfy but still on trend).
This has become my new mum uniform for my off duty days!
